Kung Fury - A must watch movie!

Wife was out with her co-worker's last night for drinks and celebrating a birthday and I was home alone with the dog and looking for something to entertain me but nothing overly complex to watch. Then I found this sleeper of a movie.

Let me first say this isn't a fantastic movie, it is the typical "B" mod movie. It's bad, but in a good way bad that is entertaining and short (30 mins). 

What gripped me is the early on opening of a cop car being flipped into the air by a skateboard and then blown apart by small arms fire by some thugs. Then a video game turns into a killing machine shooting everything around it and flipping people off. At least until the hero shows up.

I won't spoil the plot but let's just say it just has a crazy mix of cool cars, David Hasselhoff jokes, 80's technology nostalgia with Hitler calling himself the "Kung Fuhrer" and backing up this bad ass martial arts time traveling cop is Triceratops Cop, the Norse God Thor, a Valkyrie riding a T-Tex, a Feral chick with a mini-gun and wolf alongside a Hacker....yea....I don't think they missed too much! Well maybe zombies...

Watch it with a grain of salt and for a laugh.

I found it on Netflix...but also apparently a site has an "touch game" for Kung Fury and has the full 30 min movie on the site. Enjoy!

Marvel's Dead Pool Movie - *****

No  spoilers here! I don't do crap like that.

Great movie, perhaps the best ever Marvel movie to date. The one liner quips by Dead Pool was a scream and the pacing was great, not a boring moment in it.

My wife that isn't a comic book fan actually went when we first met to go see Daredevil for Valentine's weekend, well we all know that movie sucked. Of late she half watches the Flash and the Arrow with of late I was able to get her to watch AKA Jessica Jones and Daredevil, she is excited already for season 2 of Daredevil, while she has never read a comic book her only favorite movie to date was the Punisher that was comic book based. 

Oh, I will give you one hint - stay for the credits....Easter Egg! 

2017 Movie Watch List: Guardians Soviet Superheroes

Wow, 2017 could have a sleeper here for super hero movies!

Fantastic 4 = Fantastic Fail!

Well, hit Red Box up for this movie last night, I could not stand the idea of paying full movie admission price to see this movie after all the things (and not the Grimm type) that I read about this.

Simply put, another Marvel Fail...the other two Fantastic Four movies was better than this. Why?

1) Before I go into my first gripe, I want to say  I am not racist, but I am a true to a concept and ideal.  One of the fastest ways to get under my skin is try to change a character to the point it is no longer the character of the original. In this case, the Human Torch. Why? That would be like taking Black Panther and making him a Hispanic or a white guy in Africa. The Fantastic Four has been the same since 1961, the formula works, why change it? Because you want to appeal to a broader base? Try to put an interracial family spin on it? If you want to do that, use an already established hero or create a new one, don't reimage something that should never be touched. To me this is like taking a classic book and totally changing the characters in it, you have strayed from what made it good.

2) The plot was weak....very weak. Compared to the last two, this was to me a little more than a young adult (tween) twist on the Fantastic Four instead of the adults that went into space and got their powers testing a new ship. Instead you hock up a bunch of crap about another dimension giving them their powers. *sigh*

3) Dr. Doom - WTF! What the hell! Serious, you took a great corner stone character and well turned it into a pile of garbage. The costume was horrible, looked like a bunch of tin foil glued on to the skin  with random crap. Also, giving him this "cosmic power"  of sorts from this other world? *BARF* Doom was science and magic....a unique blend that made him a stand our villain. Great job to the writers screwing this up!

4) The casting director - apparently like many of the cast from House of Cards on Netflix, my wife was quick to point this out. Guess he had a few debts they had to pay off. The acting was very weak, very weak.

5) Not ending up in the NYC Baxter building! Nuff said. Instead we plug them into working for the US government!

Can I say anything nice about it? The special effects were good...Wow, that is about all I can really say.

My advice, don't buy it unless it is in the bargain bin, rent it from Red Box. Wow, Marvel I guess needed a writer off movie. Marvel stick to Netflix and movies like Avengers, X-Men and Guardians....that is where your luck is.

Games and Gears Table Section 1

Well, I have been quiet (aka lazy) among being sick and involved in a variety of things....so to kick off I will start with some eye candy.....

I got my Games and Gears Hawk 28mm Board, the bad news was that many of the boards had imperfection issues, so Games and Gears is working to fix the issue. I give them credit, they promptly followed up on my contact with them on Facebook and made sure to show them what went wrong in the process so they can fix future problems.

I finished the first board section last night out of 6 and tonight I staged up a few shots using some minis and some scenery. Overall, I love the boards and can't wait to get my replacements. Until then I am going to experiment with the old ones to see how some tricks turn out. I figure once I am done I may donate the bad board sections to a LGS that will appreciate them.

Super Hero Fight Club Promo - Wow!

Fantastic Four Fail? You make the call.

I had high hopes for this reboot until I watched it. Now all I can say is Fantastic Failure!

Serious....the promo is weak....they plug the last X-men movie and special effects to carry this movie it seems.

Plus again the movie industry goes out to change characters instead of sticking to cannon instead change Johnny Storm making him another race instead of the blonde punk kid we know and love. *sigh* Mind you I am not a racist guy, but they should have stuck to what was done and not trying to rewrite what was already good and decent. Why they do these stupid choices it just really makes me want to just give up on the intelligence of the movie industry.

I know most people are like, yea they did this to Nick Fury and did a quick race change to allow Samuel Jackson the role.....again a bad choice to change something for a quick buck or hype....

Would people be upset if say they did a Black Panther movie with a white actor? Power Fist as as someone of Asian origin instead?  Perhaps make Thor female with a French accent?

How much is going too far from what is established and works?

The prior movies were not the best, but they tried and that won my respect despite the suck factor. This already has my disdain and I frankly will no go watch this movie and encourage anyone else to not give the movie industry any profit, wait for it to go to Redbox and rent it.....serious I don't think it would be worth more than this to watch.

A new super arrives!

Purchased some figures from Mason over on Lead Adventure Forums! Great guy and is just learning the ropes but does a great job and picked a fine company to cast for him!

He sculpted Captain Mancave (for those of the children of the 70's and 80's, we know the truth!)

In any case case I always had some cool ideas to use the little boy that wanted to be a super hero from a charity sale on Lead Adventures....I love supporting good causes....

So, for my Misfits of Super Heroes this little boy with be able to transform into his favorite Saturday morning cartoon character when he taps his powers that allows him to transform reality. At this point he is young but could perhaps be one of the most powerful heroes in my universe and fluff.
