A Change of Scenery

I have been thinking about things and gaming the past few weeks.   I have found that perhaps my scenery while nice is lacking in many areas and I want to expand that more. If you don't have great scenery to accompany those toy soldiers then the experience is only half way.

So, I am going to start work to build up some collections including:
1) WW2 Pacific
2) WW2 European Town
3) Sci-Fi  (perhaps a swing into modern) for Judge Dredd and Super Heroes
4) Old West Town
5) Some coastal pirate scenery....

Here is one of the lovely outlets I have chosen...

  1. 5 different type of terrain - that sounds quite ambitious, I think! I'll look forward to hearing about your approach, since more/better scenery is on my "to do" list as well.

    1. Well the WW2 stuff would be a full 4x6, the others I think my target is stuff for a 4x4 table. I plan to shop, budget and plan purchases over the next few months. I also have a friend that has offered to buy some scenery also to help split the costs. I just need to decide on what I want to focus on and what he wants to focus on first.

Plus I have my 4x6 Games and Gears board at some point in May/June that sounds like it is on track and I want to buy one or two fo those mats you can roll out that are made with the mouse pad that look like a great buy.

  3. Outdoor terrain is pretty quick to build and doesn't have to cost much. The buildings though...that'll take some time. My biggest issue with scenery is having a place to safely store it all.

    Good luck with the project.

    1. True, but I want some of the cool stuff also like the buildings and such for various games....I have a fair amount of outdoor scenery and it works...I guess I am wanting more variety and some focused specific stuff now.

    1. I do and I don't, just have to pace myself and work with my friend if he wants to add scenery also....

Storage isn't a huge issue, once I get the Hobby room clean...

  5. The pacific terrain looks really great, wish I had the room to expand a little in that direction.
