I call this kit the Opel Bitch because it was just that. A pain in the ass to assemble and with some problems. As you can see by the diagrams. On the flip side, it is also a well detailed kit, perhaps a bit too much detail.
The stick shifts was a pain in the ass to insert. The headlights and the radiator valve was annoying.
The top of the cab and the doors was a real charmer.
You had to file the doors down and add filler to fix the cracks.
I have to fix that one light on the right. Grrrr
The resin bed was warped and I had to bend it to the point it cracked to get everything to fit.
The model looks good now that it's assembled, but I hear your frustration with it. We all come across such things occasionally, more's the pity.
ReplyDeleteYea, I just have to fix that headlight that slipped and went wonky. As I said, it has amazing detail on it and the canopy is solid resin...so it isn't brittle like some of the other hollow versions out on the market. I could have pinned it but I think that would have been more of a nightmare but I think it may yet happen....
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. This was among my first Warlord models. It was a real pain, the cab and doors especially. I left the gear shift out. They didn't have the assembly guides when I put mine together, so I have no radiator valve as I couldn't figure out what it was after several days of staring at Opel Blitz's on the Internet. I also had no cab doohickey. I also see that you forgot...umm left the spare tire off on purpose just as I did.
